I’m not a pro, and I am not here to make you one. However, My BIGGEST makeup pet peeve is … when I see girls wear one color eyeshadow all up into their brow bone. If that’s what they like, to each his/her own. If you are interest in knowing how to “properly” put on eyeshadow, continue and click read more.

There are several ways you can apply eyeshadow. You can use two, three, four, and so on color designs but this post is about the basic three color eyeshadow design. Brush examples will be at the end of this post.

1.  Start out with a base (use a small flat brush): You always, always, always want to start out with a base of some sort whether it is a concealer or a regular eyeshadow base you purchased (make sure you use a powder to set the base if you use concealer). This step helps to keep your eyeshadow on all day.
Brush Tip: Because of how small the brush is, it is perfect to smooth the base on evenly onto your eyelid, crease, and transition area.

2.  Begin your look with a transition color (use a fluffy eyeshadow blending brush): A transition color is usually the color you want your look to blend into; this should almost always (unless you are doing a dramatic look) be a brown neutral color.
Brush tip: The fluffy eyeshadow blending brush will help to sweep your transition color across your transition area (the area that is just below your brow bone).
Applying Tip: Apply the product onto the brush and tap it on the palette to get the excess product off, you DO NOT want to apply this color heavily.

3.  Continue with doing your lid color (use a flat eyeshadow brush): Your lid color can be any color that you choose. I am into the neutral shimmery looks so, usually I would go with a gold shimmer color. For my brown skin beauties; gold shimmer, purple, and orange would be perfect lid colors.
Brush Tip: The flat eyeshadow brush will help you pack the color of choice nice and even.
Apply Tip: You do not want to sweep the color onto your eyelid; you want to pack it onto your eyelid instead by picking one area at a time and gently packing the product just on that area.

4.  Giving your look more definition (use a small eyeshadow blending brush): You want to choose a dark brown or black eyeshadow for this area. Add the color of choice to the outer corners and either half way into the crease or all the way across the crease.
Brush Tip: The brush will help to precisely add the color of choice (which should be darker than the other two colors) to the outer corner and crease area.
Applying Tip: If you do not know where your crease is, open your eye and notice the indent between your transition and lid and apply the product there. Just like step 2, apply the product onto the brush and tap it onto the palette to get the excess product off, you DO NOT want to apply this color heavily.

5.  Blend your transition, crease, and outer corner together THEN blend your crease and lid (use the brush from step 2 first and then the brush from step 4 last): It is VERY important to blend these colors together evenly. It helps cancel those harsh lines and bring your look together.
Brush Tip: The remaining product left from the brushes of step 2 and 4 helps with the blending of the colors; do not apply more product.

6.  Optional (use brush from step 3): If you feel like your lid color is not popping enough, go back and reapply the color. Make sure to blend this color with the crease and outer corner to cancel harsh lines.

7.  Optional; brow bone highlight (use a small flat eyeshadow brush): Take a shimmer white eyeshadow or your highlight color and apply it directing under the end of your brow (brow bone).

Note: You are not going to get it perfect the first time (practice makes perfect), you can send me pictures to my email: FaceTimeWithAsia@gmail.com and I will provide more explanation if it is needed.
